Heritage :: Beechcraft 99
The Beechcraft Model 99 is a civilian aircraft produced by the Beech Aircraft Corporation (previously the Beechcraft Division of Raytheon and now a unit of Hawker Beechcraft). It is also known as the Beech 99 Airliner and the Commuter 99. The 99 is a twin-engined, unpressurized, 17-seat/15 passenger turboprop aircraft, derived from earlier Beechcraft King Air and Queen Air, using the wings of the Queen Air, and the engines and nacelles of the King Air, and sub-systems from both, and with a unique nose structure used only on the 99. The Beechcraft 99 aircraft was replaced by the 1900D. This aircraft was flown in the Air Kentucky and Allegheny Commuter liveries and is included for FS2004 and FSX.

Air Kentucky was a commuter airline based in Owensboro, Kentucky during the 1970s and 1980s.It began operations in 1974, and joined the Allegheny Commuter system for Allegheny Airlines, and later USAir Express. This airline ended its operations in 1989. The Beech 99 was also flown by Chautauqua Airlines. Chautauqua Airlines is historically significant for being one of the last remaining companies still in business that once flew as a part of Allegheny Commuter. Allegheny Commuter was one of the first regional franchisee systems combining independent regional and commuter airlines under one seemingly contiguous and seamless brand. Equipment Code: B99.
